| Just to note - the four dominions (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) were fully independent by 1939, and so should definitely be listed separately from the UK. India was also a special case. While not independent, it was not considered to be technically a British colony, and, unlike any other British colony, had its own membership in the League of Nations (and, after 1945, the United Nations). It and the Philippines were listed on their own in the Declaration by the United Nations. |
