| I agree with betraisefold. I'd even say that March 20, 2003, and April 26, 1986, don't really belong on this list either. They're just too recent to know how history will record their importance or how famous those dates will be to posterity. Much more famous dates missing from this quiz include June 28, 1914 (assassination of Archduke Ferdinand); July 14, 1789 (storming of the Bastille); May 30, 1431 (burning at the stake of Joan of Arc); August 24, 410 (sacking of Rome by the Visigoths); July 4, 1776 (putative signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence); June 18, 1815 (Wellington defeats Napoleon at Waterloo); and many others. |
