Correctly named books will show up below
Answers MUST be guessed in order

The Bible (NIV)
PLEASE NOTE: I have decided to try and standardise them so have used a specific style. For instance, 1 Thessalonians is accepted by 1 Thess is NOT and neither is 'first epistle to the Thessalonians".

Hi all. As said above, it is in a specific style of writing. I hope that it's ok for you all. If you have any suggestions, let me know and I'll respond based on how other players rate your comment. I'll offer a few of my own suggestions to start the ball rolling. And thanks for playing!

Should accept 1 Cor for 1 Corinthians, 1 Sam for 1 Samuel and 1 Thess for 1 Thessalonians?

NOTE: I am not going to change it from this format to being able to skip answers, even if you ask nicely. It undermines the entire point. Sorry!
But virtually any other change is likely if others agree! :)

I like the format because I don't have to look for what I missed; it won't let me miss. I got it in four minutes the second time because I didn't realize I was racing the clock the first time. 4 minutes is good. Psalm is better than Psalms, as NIV has it. Good that you accept "Song of Songs". Prefer each book as is, not longer names nor shorter names. I only do these Bible Book games when there is a new one, like yours.

1) Need more time as 4 minutes is tight for folks who don't type well. After all, it's a Bible knowledge quiz, not a typing test. 2) The proper name is "Psalms" 3)You should allow for numbered books to be either 1, 1st, or First. It took me several seconds to figure out the format you were looking for. Overall, it's a good quiz though. Well done.

Could use a little more time. Would be nice if I could just write Samuel for both books, Kings for both books, etc. so I don't have to type out the book name twice for each numbered book.

The time is tight to ensure that people don't just go through every single book for every single answer. I'll add another minute but it's supposed to be tight - poor typists shouldn't struggle if they know every answer? It accepts Psalms and I thought that's what its name was but according to the source and a number of other sources, the answer is Psalm. Will allow 1st and others and also abbreviations - so that slower typists won't suffer - and hopefully that'll be ok. I don't think that Sporcle will let me group under this format, even if it were a good idea (though I note that the comment is rated at 0 atm)? Hope that answers it all!

It now accepts "samuel" for 1 Samuel since I think that makes it a fair compromise - people don't get penalised for not knowing that there's more than one but they don't get given the others for free - I don't think Sporcle will let me anyway?

The name of the book is "Psalms," because it contains 150 poems, each of which is a "psalm." So you'll see references to, say, "Psalm 23," the 23rd psalm in the book, but the name of the book itself must be the plural "Psalms" because there are 150 of them in there.
