Can you name the 30 easiest European Capitals?
Enter a capital city in the box below
Correctly named capital cities will show up below
Answers MUST be guessed in order
Sporcle European Capitals
Ok, this is slightly more difficult - some of the answers are much more obscure and I'm not expecting the majority to get them all right. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless and good luck!

This is much more difficult as there are fewer capital cities than the entire world. As such I have extended the time by an extra minute and have added two bonuses to try and help.
Before people comment, again, the order comes from a
Sporcle game and is not one that I have chosen. In the other quiz, the most guessed European capital was that of the UK. In this, France wins. So remember that there will be discrepancies with our personal opinions. I'm surprised that Iceland makes this list and apologise if you can't spell it.
Any suggestions, let me know! Good luck and happy quizzing :)

Good quiz, I like it. Strange that more people guessed the Vatican than Brussels or Stockholm, some people must have just typed out the country names after a while to get some of the smaller countries in the top 25. 5 sporcles out of 5.

Being from the UK, I actually found this quite a bit easier than the world capitals one. Now to try the Asia one - which for me will be very difficult!
Jul 9th, 2010 at 15:19 GMT
Many people will have "Stockholm" on the tip of their tongue - I doubt people will forget Vatican once they get it. Same with the others - Monaco etc - but the discrepancies are in how many people bothered to try it, I guess!

People who browse the User Contributed Games section of Sporcle will naturally get a lot of these. As it stands right now, an absolute majority have been getting all of them right...

Given the awkward spelling & lack of decent cafes, it's a bit odd that more people get Reykjavik than Amsterdam.
Jul 9th, 2010 at 15:23 GMT
Correct, @HiddenPalace, but also remember that at this time of day it's mostly Europeans on Sporcle etc. Asian quiz is getting 33% though, so we'll just have to wait and see where the dust settles! :P

Two questions. 1) how is it tougher than a world quiz when you list the countries? 2) why have bonus answers when you list the countries?
Jul 9th, 2010 at 15:36 GMT
I list the countries in both: it's tougher because countries like USA and Mexico are easier than Switzerland or Iceland. I have bonus answers because 'the hague' is often quoted as the capital city and I'm giving a gentle hint that it's wrong. I can delete bonuses if people prefer - it was just a thought.
Jul 9th, 2010 at 15:38 GMT
but to sporclers when we see the country listed as we're guessing we all know our capitals so it's pretty easy to figure out.
Jul 9th, 2010 at 15:55 GMT
I decided to remove all bonuses except for the Hague as the others were just common mistakes and not 'alternative capitals'. Hope that's sensible - vote me up if you think it is and vote me down if you think it isn't and in a few hours I'll make the appropriate changes!

Why is Reykjavic so bloody hard to spell!!!!
Jul 10th, 2010 at 03:02 GMT
running out of time and couldn't friggin' spell reykjavik!!
Jul 10th, 2010 at 03:11 GMT
good work, it was fun!
Oct 25th, 2010 at 06:27 GMT
it was very easy. maybe to make it a challenge take the time down to simply preferably 1, or otherwise 2 minutes
Oct 25th, 2010 at 09:48 GMT
From your comment I expected there to be a twist or something and I did find it easy - but I am in Europe so that probably helps!
Oct 25th, 2010 at 18:38 GMT
i dont understand the purpose of your game note. what makes it more difficult? im in america and got them all w/ 1:57 left. i was hoping there was a twist
Oct 26th, 2010 at 03:51 GMT
you might want to change the wording of the title. I didn't quite understand what the quiz was at first and only after staring to take it did I realize that the quiz was about the "30 easiest European countries" to guess.
Oct 26th, 2010 at 19:30 GMT
This quiz wouldve been worth playing if the countries weren't listed.
Oct 28th, 2010 at 21:57 GMT
Why does Netherlands come up as a bonus answer when you type in Minsk? Good quiz but very easy.
Oct 30th, 2010 at 02:03 GMT
I knew Iceland would be on here. And I failed anyway.
Oct 31st, 2010 at 02:00 GMT
Easy but fun quiz, and I appreciate that you based it on actual data, even if it's counterintuitive for most of us. Thanks also for leaving the Hague in as a bonus answer, since it's our administrative capital.
