Great quiz. A trip down memory lane. One correction - 1971 GB Qb's first name is Scott. Incredible that the Colts churned through 4 rookie QBs in 9 years, and then six years later finally find Manning.

For those who do not know the 1985 Rams QB, look up his story. Pretty cool, he was a 30 something CFL vet and that was his only season in the NFL. Led the Rams to the NFC title game.

You're missing Jim McMahon, who started 7 of the Bears' 9 games in 1982 (the year of the strike).

I think that 1998-on (other than Manning, Roethlisberger, Ryan, and Flacco) it's best to let your QB ride the bench a year or two, in the case of Brady, Brees, Rivers, Eli Manning, And Aaron Rodgers.

@daHOOK: You're absolutely right. I would add McMahon now, but you're not allowed to edit quizzes once they've been published by Sporcle.

And I just noticed the Colts started rookies in 1986, 1988, and 1990. They kind of failed at drafting quarterbacks until they got Manning lol

Man, I was just reading Steve Deberg's bio on wikipedia, he had a wild career. He was replaced by and/or a backup to Montana, Elway, Young, Testaverde, and Marino. He also came out of retirement after 5 years in 1998 to become the oldest person to appear on a Super Bowl roster with the Falcons, although he did not play in the game.

Funny how many teams are on here a few times in short succession. Buffalo in '70 & '73, Pats in '71 & '75, Niners in '74 & '78 (and neither of them are Montana), Giants in '77 & '79, Miami in '80 & '83, Indy in '86, '88 & '90, Lions in '98 & '02, Dallas in '01 & '02 (talk about a short leash), Tampa in '06 & '09.

For some reason, the first one I tried was Troy Aikman...not Peyton Manning, not Flacco, not Sanchez, but Troy Aikman.

I know some of the best QB's of all-time are on this list (Marino, Elway, Aikman, Manning) but most of the names on this list are nobodies. Maybe it shows it is better not to throw a sheep to the wolves.
