	At least some of these were NOT countries under the old name. British Malaya, Portugese Timor, Basutoland just for example. It's no surprise when a colony gives itself a new name upon independence. An actual new name for an existing country is what this quiz should have been limited to.

	British Malaya was not the old name for Malaysia. Malaysia was formed by the union of Malaya with British North Borneo and Sarawak, which were never called Malaya. Otherwise, good quiz, and I don't see why colonial name changes should be excluded.

	Perhaps make us answer in order to avoid guessing. I got them all right but only because I spent the second half guessing pretty much every African country before I got Benin.

	Papua New Guinea wasn't really "British New Guinea"; it was administered by Australia, part being New Guinea and the other being a League of Nations mandate (later UN Trust Territory) of Papua, a former German colony. Netherlands New Guinea (or Dutch New Guinea) became West Irian, a province of Indonesia. ¶ If you're interested, you could add Mesopotamia, Ceylon, Dahomey and Southwest Africa.
