| Right, current taxonomical theory includes animalia, plantae, and fungi, but also amoebozoa, rhizaria, and excavata. There's still a lot of debate, naturally, but this represents the majority thought in the biology community. Eubacteria has been reclassified as the domain bacteria, archaebacteria has been reclassified as the domain archaea, and protista has been reclassified as simply a loosely-associate group of phyla that mainly fall under the domain eukarya.
There is a seventh, chromalveolata, which is considered a kingdom by some groups of biologists, and while it is a growing group, they do not represent the majority. |
