	the cutoff here is 300 homeruns. a few players are close, but won't reach the milestone til next season. numbers are as of Sept 27, 2009 and i plan on updating them as soon as the regular season concludes. please let me know if there are any errors and ill fix them right away. heres a hint: a few players are active, but are not currently on a team. they havent officially retired yet and played in 2008 so i had to include them. enjoy the quiz!

	Did Thomas officially retire yet? I think if a player spends the whole year out, he becomes inactive anyway, so that will K.O. Thomas from the list and maybe a few others. Like the quiz though.

	@hscer: i was actually wondering the same thing with thomas while i made the quiz. according to wikipedia (i know its not a great source) he retired after the A's cut him in late Aug 2008. i seem to remember it being announced, so ill just take their word for it.

	if anyone knows how long it takes a player to become inactive as a result of not playing it would be much appreciated if you let me know. hscer says above that its one full season, anyone know if this is correct?

	I like the quiz, but I would drop the free agent guys. If theyre not playing with a team, its hard to claim them as "active".

	Moises Alou is definitely retired. Also, if you're going to include free agents, you have to include Barry Bonds. I know he's a cheater and shouldn't count, but he hasn't retired officially.

	the deal with the free agents is that they are considered active for one season after they last played. so for the guys on here, they are active since they played in 2008. bonds* hasnt played in a few seasons, so he is not on here. come this winter when the free agents on here cannot find teams and go into spring 2010 without a team, i will be more than happy to take them off the quiz. until then, they stay on it.

	i just updated the numbers to reflect the entire 2009 season. so theres a hint, no current tigers or twins on this list.

	since its been a whole season and based on the reception of commentors, i decided to take out the 2008 free agents. this means no more jim edmonds, moises alou, luis gonzalez or richie sexson.

	nobody has seemed to find this yet, but if you put in players nicknames instead of their last names they will come up. a few current and former yankees have some interesting nicknames...

	Just updated this quiz as of 2/5/10. I will add the teams of the free agents once they sign somewhere. One player was added back to this quiz because he signed with a team despite not playing at all last year.

	I'm pretty sure Jim Thome played for the twins, not the phillies. He is going to play for the Phillies next year
