| @climber_v12: I think that the sporcle standard is Burma, with acceptance of Myanmar, isn't it? I could be wrong. The United Nations uses Myanmar, defaulting to the nomenclature wishes of the country's rulers, but the United States and the United Kingdom do not recognize the junta and thus still call the country Burma. As for explanations, they are pretty self-explanatory. I could expand on Indonesia, I suppose, as different parts were invaded and occupied in slightly different years, but it would only be a year difference, so I didn't bother. |
