Good quiz - you should do one for Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.

Being Norwegian I didn't have any trouble spelling Ole's name, but I was quite miffed that it was misspelled. You should at least allow Solskjær as an alternative :) Otherwise an excellent quiz! Can't believe I forgot Mark Hughes, though.

I thought I did well getting 25! turns out that's less than most. Bet that'll change if this gets made into a propper quiz and everyone else takes it and not just the hardcore footie fans. still, 25 is not bad for a gooner.

Amazing (or perhaps not that amazing) that Alan Smith didn't even get 8 goals!

Alan Smith probably got more red cards than goals...

Damn! Only missed two. John O' Shea didn't even come to mind and I couldn't remember the name of that scruffy, below average Argentine from a few years back... Turns out it was Diego Forlan! Nice one!

27/31, meh shows how much I hate your club! ;) And betterspud, Diego Forlan is Uruguayan, and he's anything but below average. European Golden Shoe last year, never quite worked out for him at Old Trafford though.

You're right about Jordi Cruyff, of course. I have added Jordi as a permissible entry.

Glad to see MUFC's the first one published. Missing Andrew Cole is completely unforgivable though.

One of the lines from the song 'come on you reds' from the 90s got me a lot - "Schmeichel, Parker, Pallister. Irwin, Bruce, Sharpe and Ince. Hughes, McClair Keane and Cantona....Robson Kanchelsis and Giggs!"

@Rhys: Because four football games in one day would be just a little too much? One of them has to be first...

Damn. I couldn't spell Cruyff, despite his more famous dad, should have put his full name! Only missed Hughes, Sharpe, Carrick and Ole otherwise..

I feel awful for getting Jordi Cruyff but not Darren Fletcher. Not surprised Nani hasn't made the list. Ship him out Fergie!

I'm a big Liverpool fan, though OG Solskjaer is one of the players I respect the most (and I don't have trouble writing his name). It took me 4 minutes to remember the name of Teddy Sheringham... which made me forget RVN, Cole, Yorke, Tevez and so much...

With the exception of perhaps Liverpool, I think it's pretty clear why Man Utd were the first one's published. I'm not a Utd fan, but they are world-renowned and have always been one of the greatest football teams in existence.

Can someone explain to me why the likes of Law, Charlton, and Best were not on this list, was it not called the premier league at that time?

@rwilly28 No it wasn't...The Premier League was created in 1992. Otherwise, defenders would not appear on the list, such as Vidic :P
