To clarify a bit on the rules: Any time you're stuck on an anagram you can type in the original anagrammed letters (as they appear in the "scrambled" column) to get a hint telling you the author of the book/poem/play/story that those letters anagram to. If you solve the anagram without a hint, you get credit for two correct answers, but if you need a hint you'll only get credit for one.
This "hints with penalties" format was inspired by smreidy113's fantastic "Earlier the Better" series (see http://www.sporcle.com/games/smreidy113/the-earlier-the-better-geography-edition for an example), which uses the Wrong Answer option to have several questions of differing difficulty leading to the same answer.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome. In particular, I'd love to know if there's a way I can make the answers for the unsolved anagrams actually appear at the end of the quiz. For now I've put a screenshot of the solved quiz up at http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e256/kcostell/anagramanswers-1.jpg . |
