For the curious: If the World Cup were the Top 32 ranked teams instead of the current qualification system, the teams that would be displaced by the first 8 teams above are:
South Korea (47th)
New Zealand (78th)
South Africa (83rd)
North Korea (105th)
If South Africa received an autobid it would be in place of the 32nd ranked squad, Ghana.

would have been interesting to see the top ranked countries from each federation that didn't make it. Also surprised it seems Scotland has slipped so far down the rankings. Weren't they only a few places off England at 1 point not so long ago?

Was more suprised not to see Ireland there. It's been a while since Scotland have come close to qualifying for a tournament, whereas the Irish made the World Cup in 2002
