I grew up on "Mr. Popper's Penguins". I don't know how well known that one is, though.

Another one is Agatha Christie's Cat Among the Pigeons. I would suggest taking some of the comments' suggestions to replace one of the Seagulls, Swans and Doves; it is a pity to have repeated answers. Very nice quiz anyway

Were these put in chronological order? If so, I find it funny that I knew everything up until the last three. Good quiz.

There is also Daphe du Maurier's "The Birds," or it that a bit too tautological?

Gerard Manley Hopkins's "The Caged Skylark" would work, but might be a bit obscure.

@Danica: You're right, Coleridge's 'Albatross' should have been included. I would have liked to see: Still Life with Woodpecker - Tom Robbins (1980)

Once I'd filled in the ones I knew, I just kept guessing canary... I don't know any books with canaries, but it would be nice of there were some...? Oh, and @Danica and @list_smith, Coleridge's poem isn't called "Albatross" - it's called "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner". @jasperwyld I agree, there should totally have been some Mockingjay!

It seems appropriate that there is a commercial for Angry Birds above this quiz.
