| @Emperor_Ziggy: I'd have to disagree with that assessment, considering that the combined rate of violent crime in the rest of Western Europe, Canada, Japan and Australia is substantially lower than in the U.S., and all of the countries checked have substantially stricter gun laws. Just as most people don't think "oh god, I might get the death penalty for doing this" in violent crime, most of which isn't premeditated, most people don't think "that 80 year old with the 1000 dollars in her purse might be packing heat because I live in Wyoming." |
