What's your source? I've never seen world cities ranked to such high numbers, so I'm curious. Also, shouldn't Virginia Beach be on here?

Yeah, where are Virgina Beach and Vitorio? I think these are city populations (instead of metro populations).

I was more surprised at the lack of Visakhapatnam. The Indian census (for Andhra Pradesh) in 2001 puts it at 1,329,472 inhabitants. That census gives different numbers for other of these cities too. What source have been used here?

Including the countries in the answers would be helpful and edifying; which is the other Valencia besides in Spain?

@marzoz...Venezuela. And this quiz needs a source and I agree with the conspicuous absence of Virginia Beach, Vitoria, and Vishakhapatnam.

"Virginia Beach is the most populous city in Virginia and the 41st largest city in the United States, with an estimated population of 440,415 in 2008.[3]" Sorry Strong_Island, it just hasn't got enough enhabitants to make the list.

Metro Vancouver has about 2.3 million, but the city proper only has 600k.
