Hey Potter fans! This is my daughter's first quiz (she's 9). She's been asking for a while now for me to show her how to make a quiz. I told her that she had to come up with the idea on her own and that it had to be something that hadn't been done before. Today she told me she had an idea- and this is it. I helped with the image set-up but the idea and image selection are completely hers! (Proud papa moment- when she decided to use the cat for Prof. M. I thought "Hey! She gets this whole quiz creation business!")

I don't follow Harry Potter much but I desperately thought that cat was named Mrs. Nesbitt or something, but then I realised that was Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and the cat wasn't even Mrs. anything... :(. Great quiz !

Hey Katie, we think you did a super job, and we're giving you 5 globes and 50 house points :)
< That's from me and my cat, "Paws"
Mar 3rd, 2013 at 22:47 GMT
This earns a five from me, Katie. Well done! The only thing I noticed is that the quiz did not accept 'Tom' or 'Riddle'

love any time there is a new Harry Potter quiz, and this one was especially fun! Good job! @RobPro; I think you're thinking of Mrs. Norris, who is a cat in Harry Potter, just not the one pictured here. So Mrs. Nesbitt (haha!) was closer than you thought!

I see good quiz-making runs in the family. GREAT QUIZ, KATIE!

@NAPB: So does your cat need a Paws button?

^ He says "meow!" Which I think means "Thanks, rockgolf, that was very thoughtful of you!"

I love Harry Potter quizzes & this is great especially using Prof M when she's transfigured. If you create another quiz (because there are so many wonderful characters) perhaps you could make it so we have to attach a name to a specific picture. Are you looking to be sorted into Ravenclaw? This was great fun & well done :-)

great quiz! reminded me i should watch the movies again.

This would be harder if you had to answer for a specific picture one at a time. The way it is right now, you can just name a bunch of random Harry Potter characters and get the answer correct without even knowing who's who.

Five globes for Katie :)

Proud dad moment here- as I said in the archived comments, this is my daughter's first quiz (she's 9). She had been asking for a while for me to show her how to make a quiz. I told her that she had to come up with the idea on her own and that it had to be something that hadn't been done before. This is the idea she came up with. I helped with the image formatting but the idea and image selection are completely hers! (When she decided to use the cat for Prof. M. I thought "Hey! She gets this whole quiz creation business!") She's at school for another four hours, but she's going to be thrilled to see this when she gets home!

Congratulations Katie, your first published quiz, (and a darn good one at that!), may it be the fist of many! :)

Great quiz - 10 points to Gryffindor!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 15:18 GMT
Fantastic work for a nine year old! That said, this should be made so that you have to name a specific picture. Otherwise, people will just type in every Harry Potter name they can think of.
Apr 10th, 2013 at 15:27 GMT
Can't believe a 9 year old came up with this, very well done Katie! Fantastic picture selections, particularly the cat. I echo SteelyMatt's comments that naming the specific pictures would be better, otherwise you could just guess most of them.

Awesome quiz, and great job!

I'm glad people seem to understand that I was offering constructive criticism :) While Katie seems to have a real knack for quiz creation already, we all can benefit from pointers!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 15:43 GMT
There is a great future here for young Katie, I'm sure this will be the first of many great quizzes from you - excellent work, well done! :)
Apr 10th, 2013 at 16:16 GMT
well done - maybe accept "olivander" ? - the cat got me, kept trying mrs norris or crookshanks!

Sporcle: The Next Generation.
Hopefully it too will be even better than the original.

Well done, Katie!

Katie--congratulations on a job well done!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 17:19 GMT
Congrats on the quiz! Let the next one be about Kyrgyztan, that would be a good one... :D
Apr 10th, 2013 at 17:23 GMT
Wouldn't have gotten Oliver if you showed the whole picture with him in his Quidditch uniform. Been too long since I've seen the early movies.
Apr 10th, 2013 at 17:36 GMT
Excellent job, Katie. I love how you pinpointed a part of the character that's iconic for them - Harry's scar (obviously), Dumbledore's beard and a book, Sirius's tattoo, and Dudley's piggy tail. And extra points for McGonagall in her cat form. As Harry and Ron would say, brilliant!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 18:04 GMT
Terrific quiz, Katie--great job! And big thanks for not including a close-up of Aragog. *shudder*
Apr 10th, 2013 at 18:43 GMT
All I could see for Tom Riddle was some kind of angry shark - I kept trying to remember who the shark was in Harry Potter!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 18:44 GMT
Welcome to the proud papa club,
Apr 10th, 2013 at 19:03 GMT
Loved the image choice for Draco - such fantastic (and distinctive!) hair.
Apr 10th, 2013 at 19:27 GMT
Nice job Katie, win us a Quidditch final and make more!
I'm also giving thumbs up for Dudley's picture. ;D
Apr 10th, 2013 at 19:46 GMT
I love this quiz Katie - my favourite subject, Harry Potter! The bonus was I got them all right, although it took me a while to remember the goblin's name!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 20:07 GMT
I almost guessed Mrs. Norris for McGonagall; very tricky! Congratulations to Katie!
Apr 10th, 2013 at 22:42 GMT
Well done Katie, really good quiz! :D Good topic as well- Harry Potter is an excellent choice. :D
Apr 11th, 2013 at 00:41 GMT
Thanks for the comments. (I didn't want Aragog either, Stillwater100.) I will make a quiz again, as soon as I find time. It might be on a different topic though.
Apr 11th, 2013 at 01:47 GMT
Great job, Katie. Can't wait to see more from you!
Apr 11th, 2013 at 07:31 GMT
good quiz! well done! :D
Apr 11th, 2013 at 10:23 GMT
I didn't have a prayer for Ron. I was trying obscure female characters, like Aunt Marge.
