i would suggest something a bit less specific than annihilation for 1492-1890...i tried conquest of the americas, native americans

agreed. the answers were a little too specific. why "rule of mao zedong" but "reign of josef stalin?"

I thought Mao Zedong and Stalin had a lot more deaths during their rule. Also does your WWII death toll include the Holocaust?

@meltingbridge- you're right, native americans should work for that one. i meant to put that down but guess i forgot... as far as i can tell there's no way for me to edit the game which sucks

@powersimm- "Mao" and "Stalin" should work for those two answers, respectively

@Jezuzfingerz- check the source at http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/warstat0.htm#Total, it has some pretty detailed info about these numbers. keep in mind, these are only estimates in most cases.

Ok I checked out the source and that explains the statistics with Zedong and Stalin enough, exact numbers are difficult to get and sources are variable. But I still believe if the Holocaust was not included in the WWII death toll than it should be on the quiz. 11 million people

good idea for a quiz, but it's tough to make the answers not have to be so specific.

Ugh, I tried "Russian Revolution," "Lenin," etc., and then tried about 10 different things for "Conquest of New World," "Expansion into New World," "Indians," all sorts of things. It's just too hard to come up with a zillion different ways of saying that.

Not your fault of course but the source's - I think that some of these things are simply too aggregated. I was looking for more time-bound events such as the holodomor, the cultural revolution, rather than the entire time Mao and stalin were in power. The conquest of the Americas is just too long in time and involved too many actors to be treated as a single event.

I don't think the source is particularly trustworthy. Could you find a source more reliable than a personal website? Anything compiled by the UN or other international organizations, for example?
