20 minutes and accepting abbreviations isn't a good combination. I got the answer just by pressing each letter. Also, it was annoying having to type Cadmium in three times because of the abbreviations.

Why is lithium out of order? Also, I agree with iceman1731, I think you shouldn't accept abbreviations, and on top of that, shorten the time, a lot.

it would be better if you did it in hot and cold format, like the closer you are to the location of the element on the table, the hotter you are

Time has been reduced. Chemical abbreviations no longer accepted. It is now in hot and cold format. The elements on the periodic table that are closer to the target element are closer to the top.

It might also be cool to have chemistry-based hints, like "Nope, not an alkali metal" or the like. Maybe you did, though- I didn't type in every element, so you might have. Good idea regardless.

Lots of elements I tried weren't accepted at all. It was super frustrating...
