 | jjf6w: | Jan 12th, 2010 at 00:32 GMT | | 5 points |
| ive waited years for a quiz to include mark philippoussis as an answer |
 | banutzu: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 11:33 GMT | | 1 point |
| u should include the champion as it gives away some of the other answers |
 | banutzu: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 11:33 GMT | | 0 points |
| above should read shouldn't |

| Don't know sports, but good quiz. |
 | Flick: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 17:32 GMT | | 17 points |
| This is made easier because the champion information often provides the answer to the runner up. Good quiz though |

| I RULE! I got 40 answers correct*!!!!! (*If you use the tennis scoring system) |

| Philippoussis = the Kyrgyzstan of this quiz. |
 | mendelevium: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 18:06 GMT | | 4 points |
| im so proud of myself for spelling philippousis right. mind you i tried about 50 times before i got the right spelling. better time couldve been spent on guessing the other 41 answers |

 | mattv1: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 19:57 GMT | | 1 point |
| I wouldn't have guessed Mal Washington ever made a quarterfinal of a major, let alone the final. |
 | bigal4: | Jan 13th, 2010 at 20:01 GMT | | 5 points |
| @mattv, Yeah, that year was full of upsets, such as Richard Kraijcek beating pistol Pete. I think you have to hide the champions, it gave me loads of answers I would have forgotten |

| I remember that '96 Wimbledon, where all the seeds fell early. Good quiz, good memories. |

| Great quiz - like it lots.
Still can't quite work out though how I got Tanner, Pioline, Curren, Washington & Lewis but managed to miss Agassi. I'm even reading his autobiography at the moment! Tsk. |

| I'm going to disagree with the people saying that providing the champion info makes the quiz too easy. The only winners who were runners-up in other years are pretty big names, and most tennis fans would have guessed them anyway. The real challenge is pulling the more obscure names out of thin air. |

| Really wish Andy Roddick's name was coming up in the 3rd column rather than the middle column for 2009. Was gutting. |

| Can't believe I forgot Rafter! Rushed home to watch the end of the '01 final against Ivanisevic, Pat went down 7-9 in the final set if I recall... Goran's 4th time lucky!
Misspelled Curren... Argh. |

| Really pleased to have got the lot, though I don't know how I managed to pull Cedric Pioline's name out of the corners of my mind! Most unlikely man to ahve made the final has to be Mal Washington and the unluckiest never to have got there equally has to be Tim Henman- he deserved at least ONE Wimbledon final but he mostly seemed to be drawn against the best player in the world in that year for the semis! |
 | macedoniajoe: | Jun 3rd, 2011 at 05:32 GMT | | 1 point |
| pioline is difficult |

| 2008 final, one of the best tennis matches i've watched..as a teenager I'm not old enough to have seen any of the older classic finals as they happened, but I'm lucky to be around in an age where tennis is as good as it is now! |
 | Beanz57: | Jul 5th, 2011 at 11:05 GMT | | 1 point |
| Totally agreed. I loved the 2009 final as well, was devastated for Roddick though. |

| OMG no Federer for 2010 or 2011 for Wimbledon! :'-( |

| i cant believe Cedric Pioline made it to da finals once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
 | aznemesis: | Jul 9th, 2011 at 06:07 GMT | | 1 point |
| Forgot how to spell Nastase's name. For some reason, I thought there was a random "j" in there somewhere.
I had completely forgotten that Pioline or Washington ever made a major final. I always liked Pioline. |

| If anyone was made to win Wimbledon but didn't it was poor Rafter! He was up in both of those matches. Came 2 points away against Ivanisevic. Oh well..at least he won the US Open twice. |
