| I don't think that Greenland should count as part of Denmark. It is not part of Denmark, proper, but rather an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark (Danish Realm). It was granted home rule in 1979. It is not an independent nation, but closer to a territory than a part of Denmark, proper. It's sort of like saying the Fauklands are part of the UK, when they are a self-governing territory, not part of the UK in the way England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are. |
