	The problem is Kobe didn't WANT to be drafted by any of these teams. Even as a 17 year old, he was a prima donna. Nets coach John Calipari went to the Bryants' home and told him, "We're drafting you eighth overall," and Kobe replied, "No thanks."

	@chriskotx: Nah, Philadelphia never liked Kobe even back when he was playing in high school. They booed him when he won the All-Star MVP in Philly and they always thought he was cocky and arrogant (strangely enough, so was Allen Iverson who they love).

	You should also mention that the Lakers didn't draft Kobe either. The Charlotte Hornets did. Then they traded him to the Lakers for Vlade Divac. What's the significance of saying this? Because Kobe did not want to be on any team but the Lakers. That's why all these teams passed on him. And Philly got Iverson, who, though not nearly as good as Kobe, did have himself a pretty damn good career. I don't think they regretted the move.
