A little surprised that more of the "banana republics" weren't on this, and I never would have guessed Egypt as a major producer.

In any food-producing countries quiz, type Brazil. Just do it, soon you'll see why. The question is: is there anything brazilians don't produce?

I'm surprised St Lucia doesn't make the list - that's where most bananas in British supermarkets come from!

Is there a source for this? Was exceptionally surprised to not find Colombia in there as a lot of the bananas I eat are from there, and the wikipedia page has them as the world's 10th largest producer with 2 millions tons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana#Trade

surprised my country (colombia) isn't there. according to FAO http://faostat.fao.org/site/339/default.aspx Colombia is the 10th producer and produces 2034340 MT (Ecuador is 4th and Brazil 5th). and the country has always been one of the top producers. the source seems to be wrong.

I love these agricultural quizzes. Just enough time that you have to make educated guesses but not so much that it's a type-every-country thing.

Surprised at the number of Asian countries on here, along with the lack of African countries. I always thought that Africa was the king of banana producers.
