	Nixon didn't want to debate again after his experience in 1960. In 1968, the Nixon campaign couldn't or wouldn't agree about including George C. Wallace (I can't remember if they refused to debate him, or insisted on including him, but it was the opposite of what the Democrats demanded.) I can't remember what reasons LBJ's campaign gave; I'm sure Goldwater would have loved the opportunity.

	The basic issue was that Johnson in 64, and Nixon in 68 and 72, were way ahead and basically felt like debating was all risk with no upside (it had only been done once before, after all).

	Admiral Stockdale was Ross Perot's running mate in 1992. He did the Vice Presidential debate with Quayle and Gore, and was most remembered for seeming to be somewhat senile and out of it during the debate.

	Here's one I had to look up: John Anderson's running mate. It was two-time Democratic governor of Wisconsin Patrick Lucey. Lucey didn't participate in any debates.
