About 5-10 players are still active.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Omer Asik, and Andres Nocioni are still on active rosters. Also, I wouldn't call a player "inactive" if his contract just ended this offseason (i.e. Vladimir Radmanovic), or if they signed a contract with a European team that has an option to return if the lockout is ended (i.e. Darius Songaila)

What about Tony Parker?

And Steve Nash? By the way, what is the rationale for choosing some countries and not others?

Great quiz, really enjoyed it! @Dazz: Parker was born in Belgium, and Belgium isn't on the list, unfortunately.

I felt like Andrew Gaze had more of an NBA presence. Probably because of the Sydney Olympics.

Forgot Mike Pietrus, born in France (well, actually he was born in Guadeloupe, which is part of France).

@darksilver When he was on your home team's roster. Also when he's a part of the Jerry Stackhouse/Richard Hamilton trade. Luck of the draw for me.

I thought of Szczerbiak to guess because he has a foreign-sounding last name. I was shocked when he actually came up for Spain. Turns out his father was playing for Madrid at the time.

Absolute mind candy for a die-hard NBA fan. Couldn't even name 3 of 5 Canadians (and yes I knew Nash was born in Johannesbourg). Flummoxed by Parker, and the Chinese dude that has more points than Yao. Do you think he'll limp back on to the court to beat his record? It's a source of pride! And who could guess Zerbiak was Spanish. He's a Polak from the midwest! Great quiz, kudos to jonesjeffum.

It's cool that all five of Turkey's players are still active. That's a good sign that the sport is on the rise in that country.

A lot more of these are active. For example, Diop is on the Bobcats. Khryapa played for CSKA last year but stated he wants to come back to the NBA if possible (pending the strike). etc.

I thought Pietrus might have been born elsewhere, but that's not the case. So, it does appear that he should be added for France. Ronny Turiaf also has enough (1888 career points) to rank over most of the others listed for France. (See: http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/2789/ronny-turiaf) Like Pietrus, he was born in a French territory (Martinique, in this case).

David Andersen is actually playing in Italy, he shouldn no more be listed as an active NBA player.

Was going through the foreign sounding names with the Oklahoma City Thunder and thought of Thabo Sefolosha, but Switzerland isn't even on the list.

While I would agree that Sasha Pavlovic can hardly be called an "active" player, he unfortunately has been occupying a roster spot for the Celtics this season.

Germany's #2 and #3 seem out of order (or there's a typo in the scores).

Loved this quiz, very challenging. I'm pretty happy with getting 79, yet I could have done better. I remember Dare and N'Diaye, but forget about Nocioni and Vandeweghe.

Anyone who knows anything about the NBA and appreciates accurate Sporcle quizzes should not support this..where to even begin with the mistakes/inaccuracies. I recommend everyone report this. Nice concept, but horribly, horribly, horribly executed.
