Any time when you bring in Four Square into a quiz makes a quiz easily rated 5 orcles.

The Hurling/Gaelic Football markings are slightly wrong. There should be a 13, 20, 45 and 65 metre line and a short line in the centre of the pitch which marks the throw in but doesn't stretch across the whole field. And please accept GAA for this. Great quiz though! You don't realise sometimes how complex these fields are until you see them like this.

I thought about accepting GAA, but it is really the governing body- not the sport. It would be like calling soccer FIFA.

Loved the quiz although shameful that i missed cricket (thought it was sumo wrestling haha). Just a little pointer for Australian Football you should also include the goal squares and possibly the goal posts.

I thought the halfway line for the rugby field was a net. Looked darker to me; maybe it's my eyes throwing me off.

Great quiz. I really wanted the gaelic football field to be water polo. So much I typed it over and over.

good quiz

Very nice. The markings for men's and women's lacrosse are very different, so that could be a candidate for addition. Personally, I'd add skydiving: a big circle with a tiny x in the middle. :-)

Great quiz. Always like the ones that educate me about non-American sports.

I'm Canadian, but Gaelic Football is probably the coolest sport I've ever watched. Don't see it too often on TV over here though.

gopaladins... if you think ultimate frisbee isn't a sport, you should try playing it. I'm not surprised that so few people got it though. Most people still think it's just throwing a disc back and forth. Funny that we don't consider throwing a ball back and forth to be the sport of baseball.

nice quiz.. was harder then i thought.. cannot believe i missed curling. I think Racketball should be an accepted spelling.

I agree that ultimate frisbee is a sport but it's exceptionally hard to get in this quiz because the field is essentially featureless. Also I missed lacrosse even though both my kids play and I spend just about every weekend watching it -- the crease (goal circle) is MUCH closer to the end line than the graph shows; it never even crossed my mind that was a lacrosse field.

I kept trying Quidditch (you never know!). :) Would make a good bonus answer.

Quidditch and Australian Football are surprisingly similar actually

Great one! Foursquare is a little bit of a stretch, but it's easy. There's a separate quiz to be done on street games, really.

might want to accept shufflepuck for shuffleboard. nice quiz
| thedpr: | Nov 10th, 2010 at 14:20 GMT | | 3 points |
Fantastic quiz! Love the inclusion of ultimate - to me, the simplicity is part of the appeal. Ultimate is probably the team sport that requires the least amount of equipment in order to play according to the official rules - just a disc and some lines/cones.

And also because the field is, in my opinion, easier to recognize. For a few seconds I actually thought American Football was Cribbage. |

Since there are two completely different sports both called handball, one of which is played on a court identical to a racquetball court, could handball be accepted for that one as well?
| shanekelby: | Nov 15th, 2010 at 01:47 GMT | | 2 points |
I've never played Ultimate on an actual Ultimate field, I didn't realize that the brick mark was an actual mark. Learn something new every day.

The Cricket court is identical to a freestyle wrestling mat, so it should be acceptable.

The official name of the sport is "Ultimate" since 'frisbee' is a brand name (and not even the brand name of the official disk used - ultimate uses a Discraft disk). Maybe it would be both accurate and clear if the answer looked something like "Ultimate (Frisbee)"
