What do you think about the choices... some that just missed the cut... Ford's Theatre and the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial

I like the choices- it's a good mix of obvious and not-so-obvious. Another great jonesjeffum contribution!

Other choices to consider: National Archives; Pension Building/National Building Museum; Verizon Center or FedEx Field; National Cathedral; National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception; Old Executive Office Building; Treasury Building (clue: the back of a $10 bill!)...Ford's Theater would also be a good one; as a DC-area resident and a Library of Congress user, I didn't recognize the Library !!?!! (but would have if you had been able to get a shot with its dome). Korean War memorial was a total blank, so maybe that's good. (Teddy) Roosevelt would be *very* obscure; I have lived in the DC area for 35 years and have never once seen it, or to my knowledge even seen a picture.

I'd consider Arlington cemetery, if you could actually get a shot that was of Robert E. Lee's house, as opposed to just the gravestones. Great quiz, though.

@tk925 Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (#16) is located within Arlington National Cemetery. It is probably the most recognized landmark within the cemetery, even more than Robert E. Lee's house or the Kennedy burial site. I think jonesjeffum made the right choice.

Others you could include that haven't been mentioned are the Mormon Temple (OK, maybe not--but who else here constantly uses that part of the Beltway?), Key Bridge, and the Exorcist steps (again, maybe not). Loved it, especially having lived here my whole life, but I'm not alone in my enjoyment of this quiz, it seems.

Hscer: as a dc native myself, I'm tempted to agree with you. However, not many people outside our area have heard about the Mormon temple. Exorcist steps, maybe, but keep in mind that all the landmarks have to be in the city limits. Otherwise, you could even bother to suggest fed ex field (redskins stadium), which is located in landover, md.

@smreidy113 did Georgetown break off from DC after I moved out? It's actually stated that they don't have to be within city limits, thus Mount Vernon, the Pentagon, and the Tomb for the Unknown Soldier. This was a great quiz, it had me confused at some buildings I used to pass every day going to work, but none of the pictures are bad or misleading.

Not to be a stickler, but there's a huge difference between a 'Vietnam Memorial' and a 'Vietnam Veterans Memorial'-- the latter being the real name of the memorial.

I kept trying the Old Executive Office Building for the Library of Congress because it was a street level shot. Also, technically the picture identified as Smithsonian is either The Castle, or the Smithsonian Institute Building. The Smithsonian is a mass of buildings surrounding the mall and elsewhere. My one complaint is requiring memorial. I lived there for 25 years and it's always "The Jefferson" or "The Lincoln". Having to type memorial for everything was a bit of a pain.

Also, for Mount Vernon, I couldn't remember for the life of me its name even though I recently visited there. I knew it was George Washington's House/Mansion, so maybe accept either of those.

This is excellent. The only suggestion that I might consider is the Watergate. Otherwise, excellent representation of the city.

Would be nice if Korea Memorial was accepted, since Vietnam Memorial was. I'm not too keen on exact names, but I knew what it was.

Enjoyed it, but calling Mount Vernon "Washington area" is a bit of a stretch. So many other good ones like the National Cathedral, Watergate, or the Mall which are actually in DC, or at least inside the beltway.

@rockinlipe & jfors10 "Capitol" is the building where government meets. "Capital" is the city in which the "capitol" is located.

Could "Congress" count for the Capitol building? I know it sounds dumb, but I couldn't think of "capitol" in time.
