Fun quiz. Could you maybe accept 'Miami' for 'Miami Beach'?

i agree with the miami comment, but also would add that st. paul and minneapolis be considered as one, as the logo from the 2008 convention indicated both cities http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2008_Republican_National_Convention_Logo.png

The 1964 Democratic Convention was obviously just a front for a huge game of Monopoly.

"Someday they should just hold them both in the same place, just for fun." They did...1972...Miami. Also a few times in Chicago.

Charleston, SC, 1860 was the first site of the Dem. Convention, but the party split over slavery, and the convention ended, and northern and southern Democrats then held separate conventions.

Just curious about something. Is it a political statement to not ever have it in Washington D.C. or is it not allowed? It must be something. It's not just like they've never picked it.

ATLANTIC CITY? I would have never guessed that... when going through the states in my head, that's one of the towns that usually crosses my mind on these things, but figured not to bother with it.

I felt stupid for trying Las Vegas, as if a party would want to be identified with such debauchery. Then ATLANTIC CITY turned out to be an answer?

I only missed Baltimore, Atlantic City, and Cincinnati. Unfortunately, they counted a lot.

Managed to miss Dallas. I usually forget San Antonio on the list of Texas cities... I took extra care to remember that one, but forgot its larger counterpart. And as for Atlantic City, I actually almost typed it in, but then laughed it off and said to myself "they'd never hold one there!"

Wow! If you type Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York, you receive over half of the answers! It just goes to show you how long the center of the U.S. population was far east compared to now.

I wasn't too surprised about Atlantic City being on the list. Who knows? Maybe Las Vegas will be on this list in the future; this country may be heading in that direction, sadly.

4 left, hmmm, nothing in NJ yet, maybe Jersey City, or Trenton, or Newark, couldn't be Atlantic City, that would just be silly, well I guess it never happened in NJ, now let's see if I missed anything out west... I go on to get the last three and give up. facepalm
