| Nice quiz, but I have an issue with which names for colleges are accepted. Although it may be common to refer to the names of some schools by just the state name, I would seriously urge you to reconsider the names that are given in a few cases. For example, I personally (and this may just be a limitation on my own experience, but maybe not) have no idea which school "California" refers to, as whenever my friends from the state or anybody on television or in a movie refers to one of the state's large public universities, they usually begin it with either "UC-" something, or just the name of the city ("Berkeley", "Santa Barbara", "Riverside", etc). Perhaps one of those schools is simply referred to as "California" by some people, but in my opinion, it is not widely known enough to have that be the only acceptable answer.
A similar complaint, and a much less excusable one in my opinion, has to do with the fact that what I assume to be UNH is referred to as "New Hampshire", when I, a New Hampshire native with several friends and family members who attend or are alumni of that school, have never heard anyone call it that: it is always "UNH" or "University of New Hampshire". I don't have the authority or experience to make claims about what other state schools are commonly referred to (for all I know, "Colorado", "West Virginia", and "Missouri" could be perfectly acceptable names for whichever schools those refer to), but they are also ambiguous
I realize that I am being incredibly nitpicky here, but that's just how I am. |
