joeflint82 : Sep 16th, 2011 at 08:07 GMT 3 points @wiggytitch: You need to answer both ladders on the same line, so for the second answer, you need to input 'ALL END'.
MSUKent : Sep 16th, 2011 at 15:36 GMT 7 points Love these. Very clever/creative. Keep em coming.
rockgolf : Sep 16th, 2011 at 16:18 GMT 5 points Brilliant stuff! I assume the coding is something like
1986 sci-fi sequel starring Sigourney Weaver (6 Letters) | ►ALI / aliens | ENS◄
But how do you get the other clues NOT to fill in after the first 3 letters? Are you using look-alike characters for some letter in the 3-letter words?
joeflint82 : Sep 16th, 2011 at 17:21 GMT 6 points I borrowed the format from Apeminkie http://www.sporcle.com/games/apeminkie/wordladder28 and like you, I loved it the moment I saw it, and that quiz was quite rightfully published.
The first word has a symbol that looks like a space, but isn't a space, so it is coded like ' ALL '(obviously with '/ALLEND/ALL END' added (I don't know if the second alternate with the space is required, but I do it anyway)). In the case of the theme words, two spaces are required to maintain the center align '►ALI '.
For the hidden column, when doing the theme words, the spaces are once again required for center align (' ENS◄'), but the other words don't need any special treatment.
rockgolf : Sep 16th, 2011 at 17:28 GMT 4 points Aha! The old non-breaking space trick! I should have known...

westknife : Dec 7th, 2011 at 15:02 GMT 4 points "Rag" could also work for "noisy dance genre."
gellchom : Dec 7th, 2011 at 17:03 GMT 2 points I agree, very clever. Good job.
xolkan : Dec 7th, 2011 at 23:38 GMT 2 points 'elo, sir. sounds like a Brit.
brez002 : Apr 11th, 2012 at 15:28 GMT 1 point could use another minute, but then again I'm terrible at ladder quizzes.
doc7ace : May 11th, 2012 at 19:33 GMT 1 point oh god, i thought it was elp!

slk0814 : May 2nd, 2013 at 11:43 GMT 1 point nice! I like the format. personally needed more time, but only because I froze on the angelina movie title for some reason. just couldn't get it until too late. good quiz, great concept! I'd like to see more like this
