	The idea here is to list senators that a) are no longer in the senate, and b) you've likely heard about in history class or on the news. Not all states are represented here, and others more than once. Eventually, I may cut down on some of the more obscure answers. Enjoy!

	Larry Craig and Jim Jeffords... two nobodies with no significant accomplishments. But no Henry Cabot Lodge or John Stennis? Subjective quizzes like this are always tough, but your list is definitely way too heavy on recent times. I would also say it's a bit biased to the Democrat-side (why Daschle but not Lott?--though I'd say neither belongs based on my first point) but that's a separate argument.

	I was underwhelmed by this quiz. It seems like the choices are arbitrary. There are plenty of missing people much more deserving to be on this list than some that are on it, given the stated criteria. A sampling: Ted Kennedy, Everett Dirksen, Edward Brooke, Howard Baker, William Proxmire, David Boren, Birch Bayh, Frank Church, William Borah, Robert LaFollette (Jr. and Sr.), Warren Harding, Paul Simon, William Roth, Sam Ervin, Fritz Hollings, Walter Mondale, Warren Rudman, Jacob Javitz, David Rice Atchison, Alben Barkley, Thomas Hart Benton, etc. etc.

	I tried to keep a balance between the academic choices (your Calhouns and Kefauvers) and the well-known (your Harts, Edwards) and those states with few to pick from (Idaho, Hawaii, New Hampshire). I just realized that the title "Famous" and "Historical" encompasses this unfortunate dichotomy. I'm going to make a few changes.

	OK, I made a few changes (less scandalmakers, more party leaders). A game like this is always going to be a little arbitrary, so I tried to level the GOP/Dem count. Keep the comments going!
