It's Whitmore, not Whitemore. And I was going to say you're missing James Earl Jones but there he is under the Es.

Love it! Can you go to the Style page, however, and change Number of Columns from Auto to 5 columns. It'll save a lot of scrolling.

One other note: Gable's first name does not have an "e" at the end.

Great quiz! Two things: could you please take off the last answer as it's blank. Also, you could go ahead and add James Franco and Jesse Eisenberg and extend it to this year, since Javier Bardem, Jeff Bridges and Colin Firth all have previous nominations.

Also, Frederic March should come before Lee Marvin and James Mason.

Other than the other people that are out of order that I've already commented on, Mickey Rourke should also come before Geoffrey Rush.

Minor nits: Nicolas Cage, not Nicholas; also, please accept 'von Sydow' in addition to 'Sydow'.

Just out of interest, is it not possible to include every person ever nominated? I thought Sporcle allows 300 entries per quiz.

Amazing! Thanks for the 1927-1930 update, now that it's possible. I don't think John Barrymore was a nominee, however, and it might be nice to have an extra minute to input the extra answers!

Great quiz. Still embarrassing how many I can't remember, or don't know. Minor adjustments: James Earl Jones should be under "J" not "E"

Shouldn't James Earl Jones be under J, not E? His full name is James Earl Boggins Jones, so Earl is a middle name.

All of you people cheated. There's no way 29.6% got Franchot Tone without checking the list.

I don't understand how Jean Dujardin can be on here as he is nominated for the first time this year and this list is only until 2010.

@muffinman: Actually, Tone holds a special place in Oscar fans' hearts. He was one of three actors nominated for Best Actor the same film - Mutiny on the Bounty in 1936, which had never happened before and hasn't happened since. But his role was much smaller than the other two actors: Laughton and Gable. His nomination largely resulted in the introduction of Supporting Actor categories the next year.
Of course, I only got him when I was desperate enough to try to enter Tone Loc.

I tried Tackleberry & Hightower from Police Academy but they never made it. Another reason why the Oscars suck.

Game question needs to be updated since this quiz now includes the 2011 (i.e., most-recent, not trying to start the debate about whether to refer to the year of the film or the year of the ceremony) nominees.
