baseball-refrence.com shows the batting average as .426. I always knew it as .424, but I guess they keep reviewing old boxscores and making corrections. I always knew Wilson's RBIs as 190, and Cobb's career average as .367 with 4191 hits.

sweeneyn09: Nap Lajoie is considered one of the greatest 2nd basemen of all-time, he isn't that obscure of a name. And bobc: You are probably thinking of Rogers Hornsby's .424 in 1924 which some consider the record because it is in the World Series-era.

Barry Bonds on steroids was so ridiculous at baseball. Those numbers are insane.

Nobody should ever draw 232 walks in a season, let alone 120 intentional walks.

Needs to be edited. Mr. All or Nothin Reynolds broke his strikeout record... and personal home run record by about 20 each

i'm very surprised that of all babe ruth's single season records (SLG% HR RBI Runs TB) the only one that stood was .. runs

I like this quiz. Maybe you should include most grand slams in a season - Travis Hafner and Don Mattingly tied with 6 each. Could also add most intentional walks, obviously Barry Bonds, with an insane 120.

Couple other interesting ones: Most plate appearances - Jimmy Rollins 778... Most grounded into double plays - Jim Rice 36.

say what you want about Bonds and the steroids (and I would agree); but man, he absolutely controlled the game when he was at bat, and that takes more than 'roids.
