| Is it strange that I was a big Barney Miller fan but probably preferred the work of Steve Landesberg, Abe Vigoda, Max Gale, Jack Soo, and especially the geezer who played Inspector Luger to Linden? Eh, I was a kid I guess. Lucille Ball at 81%, regardless of who is above or below her, is not a good thing. It's not a spelling issue like me and Monk (grrrr), and she was truly a TV innovator/pioneer with a long career in the medium. Hell in the 80s I used to eat at a restaurant in NY that had a menu item called a Lucy Ricky Fred and Ethel. No explanation given and none needed. So much on TV since the 60s has been derivative from the early shows such as hers. She has been in reruns for five decades! She is an icon, plain and simple. I don't really care who is above or below her--81% is too low, IMO. |
