	Some of these are very debatable. If Pretty Woman was Julia Roberts' breakthrough role - even though when it came out she'd already gotten her big break in Mystic Pizza, and she'd been nominated for an Oscar for Steel Magnolias - then wouldn't Leonardo DiCaprio's breakthrough be either What's Eating Gilbert Grape or Titanic, rather than the little-seen This Boy's Life?

	completely agree with Fidelio, emile hirsch was definitely well known before into the wild (girl next door, alpha dog) and paul giamatii put his name on the map after private parts. some of these may be their biggest hits but certainly not their break through. great idea for a quiz but too objective.

	Yeah, this quiz is destined for the 'most commented' section, I'd imagine. If it were mine, I'd go with Pig Vomit for Giamatti and Trainspotting for MacDonald (although that one doesn't matter one iota because people are going to get Brolin and McGregor for No Country and Trainspotting, respectively). ... and for Hoffman you could make a stronger case than Capote for several movies (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Happiness, even Lebowski). Overall a good quiz!

	I quit this quiz when Philip Seymour Hoffman was Capote. Pathetic.

	Agree on Philip Seymour Hoffman. He's been a respected supporting role actor since the mid nineties. Capote was hardly a breakthrough role for him, it was just the leading role that brought him to non regular movie watchers attention.

	Either Transpotting or Gosford Park for Kelly MacDonald. Also agree with the comments about Mystic Pizza for Julia Roberts. I do, however, like that you put Thelma and Louise for Brad Pitt
