This is fine, but as it is now, the game is "Name the people at (this position) for (this team)". I'd recommend removing the positions, and letting people guess by team.

i like the position being given, it makes it more enjoyable however, what is the determination for how long a player has been on a team, because Soto only had one at-bat in 2005, he won rookie of the year in 2008. I think it would be more accurate to go from when they lost their rookie status.

The time given was right on. If you make it tougher by removing the position, you should give more time.

Jenks started out somewhere else (I think the Angels) and was released and then went to the White Sox

I double checked this just to make sure. Jenks never played a game for the Angels, even though he was claimed off waivers by the White Sox. And just as I had thought, Varitek never played a game for the Mariners. He was still a minor leaguer when he was traded to the Red Sox.

Good game, but didn;t Soto win the Rookie of the Year pretty recently?

In an era where team loyalty is nearly obsolete among players, these players give the fans of each team someone to reliably cheer for. I have a great deal of respect for players that earn their spot on this list.

good idea, but needs more time, and i think the positions make it too easy, and you've omitted several people (hank blalock off the top of my head).

no, soto is correct. He played sparingly in 05, 06 and 07 before his "rookie" year in 2008

To my knowledge, Hank Blalock is not signed with any team. My only criteria for this was that the player had to have played at any time during any season with his current MLB team - and only his current MLB team. Soto had a few cups of coffee with the Cubs before sticking with them a couple of years ago. Varitek and Jenks played for minor league teams of other organizations, but never with the Mariners or Angels, respectively. Sorry for overlooking Bonderman. Not sure how that happened. I think I'm going to leave the positions/teams as hints. Some of them are obvious giveaways, but some are going to be just as difficult even with the additional hints.

I've added Bonderman. If anyone knows of any of the "several" I have left off, please let me know. Blalock is not with a team, however if he does re-sign with Texas, I will gladly add him.

Well, see, this is one of the problems with having "current" in the title of your quiz. According to Wikipedia, Blalock is with the Rays, so I understand why you didn't include him, but are you going to update this quiz as the season goes along if someone gets traded away? What about next year? It might just be easier to add "through the 2009 season" and then leave it as it is.

Wilson, Scott Feldman, Pedro Feliciano, Ryan Madson, Jason Bergmann, Ryan Zimmerman, and several guys who almost won the Cy Young Award last year (Felix Hernandez, Adam Wainwright, and Matt Cain, and a guy who DID win the Cy Young Award (Zack Greinke).

Sorry everyone - there were several that I overlooked. That's what I get for trying to do this while watching Butler/Duke last night. :) If anyone notices any others I missed, please let me know. I think I have added all of the above, and I have added a couple of minutes to the quiz. Thanks all for the input. I do try to get it right! :)

Not sure how I got Manny Delcarmen when I didn't type him in. Same with Bergmann. I wasn't paying attention as to when they popped up but you might want to check that.

Wow. Pedro Feliciano. I got him, but how rare is it that a MIDDLE RELIEVER is on a team for that long? 66/75, Matt Guerrier --- clutchest guess in the history of sporcle.

I think you should make the list smaller. Maybe 8+ years with the same team. I think it would make the quiz more enjoyable.

Soto needs to come off this list, but otherwise good quiz, and @ exapno it isn't the first time that has happened, Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, and Jim Gantner were all teammates with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1978-1992 (15 seasons), not sure if it has been done by another trio or not.

@Etheridge2 - Soto has played in each season for the Cubs from 2005-2010, thus making him eligible for this quiz. Granted, one season was one at bat in one game, but for the purpose of this, and his MLB record, he has now played 6 seasons for just one team.

@Masternachos - Bernie was there from 1991 to 2006, so 1995 to 2006 - 12 seasons in all. @TJ - as previously mentioned, Wakefield played for the Pirates in 1992 and 1993.

@Rathmaskal - 'Tek was drafted by the M's, but never played for them. His debut was in '97 with the Bosox.
