Should University of Phoenix really count...?

Yeah, I deliberated over whether or not to include it, but it is in fact a university. (I didn't include community college systems.) I thought the insanely high enrollment might be a tip-off.

Phoenix is a university. I'm surprised other onliners like DeVry (Devry?) didn't make it. Still, great quiz. Go Horns!

OK, upon further reflection, I took off Phoenix and changed the name of the quiz to Largest University Campuses in the U.S. (If this were total enrollment across all campuses, I'd have kept it, but it seems unfair to lump Phoenix's "online campus" in with the single-location physical campuses that make up the rest of this quiz.) There's now also a new campus on the list.

You should accept California and Cal Berkeley.

"Cal Berkeley" is now an alternative. I know Berkeley is sometimes just called "California" -- especially in athletics -- but if I accepted that, it'd have to count for UCLA, too, which is also technically a University of California. I kind of like keeping them separate, but feel free to vote this down if you disagree, and I'll think about it.

2006? Is that the last year that data was available? (the office).

Also, could we do largest undergraduate enrollment? That seems to be more accurate and easier to guess (ex: NYU wouldn't be on there)

2006 is the most recent data I was able to find from a comprehensive, authoritative source. I found several news stories and press releases that were more recent, but none showed more than a top 10. Additionally, it should be noted that while the data is a couple of years old, the government report it appears in was published in March 2009. Unfortunately, figures for undergrads only are difficult to turn up; the only thing I found was a top 5 in a UCF admissions brochure.

i think i would definitely accept "California" for Berkeley. I would also consider accepting "CS Fullerton" as well. same w/ CS Long Beach and CS Northridge.

I don't think you'd have to accept UCLA for California. Berkeley is often called "Cal", UCLA is UCLA. Also, how about ASU for Arizona State? Nice quiz.

Add MSU to the other abbreviations that need to be added.

Careful about accepting certain abbreviations. OSU could be Oklahoma State, Oregon State or Ohio State. MSU could be Michigan State or Mississippi State (and quite a few others). I do support Cal and/or California as an answer for UC Berkeley. Nice job, though!
