I realize that I'm being a little U.S.-centric here, but it would be nice if there were some indication that this was an international list.

I would hardly call Detroit's People Mover rapid transit.

Although the People Mover doesn't act like a rapid transit system, it technically is one. It uses the exact same technology as the Vancouver Skytrain and the Scarborough RT, for example. On a similar note, Portland MAX is technically a light rail system, even though it acts like a rapid transit system.
