Unfortunately, Hastings and Eastbourne are not cities.....we have campuses of Brighton University, but no cathedrals...just a poor, burnt out pier!

Unfortunately, lots of these are NOT cities and are in fact towns.

What's your definition of a city, then?

Oh no - it's not MY definition, it's just that "city status" is only given to certain places in the UK. So, to some British people, this quiz is inaccurately titled as there are only 66 true "cities" in the UK; the rest are towns. Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_status_in_the_United_Kingdom to help clarify. Was just trying to assist you in making your otherwise good quiz more accurately titled.

Yeah, sorry, didn't know that. Just read the introduction to Wikipedias entry of "City", which says that there isn't a clear line between them. I just haven't tought about that, because here in Slovenia, we have just one word for cities/towns.

To add to techwork's remarks, your list also omits some official cities because they aren't as large as some of the non-cities you include.

Well most of the European nations and the US simply use 'city' to mean any settlement, I don't think there's a problem just because we have to get fancy about it. Great quiz again by the way, really like these ones.

Reading is the biggest non-city. There are many non-cities in there.

Fairly good quiz, the only stand-out to me was the fact you neglected to include the City of Salford which has a population well over 200,000, all in all though, pretty good

Good quiz, but quite confusing because some of your answers are combined in over quizzes. For example, what is normally just called Birmingham in most quizzes is broken down into Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Solihull, Bromsgrove, West Bromwich and, Sutton Coldfield.

I would question a lot of this data. For example Doncaster is definitely larger than Rotherham having a population of over 100k in the town and over 300k in the borough as a whole

No need to be fussy about cities- and I'm a) British, b) pedantic. I wasn't expecting it to mean things that are actually officially cities in British law. @Videomaniac29- Wolverhampton, at least, is an entirely separate city (officially!), and everywhere you name is generally thought of as somewhat separate to Birmingham itself. The trouble is, the West Midlands (which does NOT = Birmingham) is one big conurbation, and exactly what is and isn't Birmingham is confusing and not helped by the tendency of many people from the WM to say they're from Birmingham to avoid confusion...

Good quiz but most of these aren't even cities, I live in Walsall and there's no way its a city, its a town. Same with Dudley and West Brom

Bromsgrove does not have 87 000 people, not by a long shot, it's roughly 30 000. I like the quiz but most of these aren't cities - the title should be 'towns and cites' or 'settlements'. Also, where's Salford?
