Nyo: you're right, except that we don't refer to El Salvador as The Savior, then spell it EL Salvador. .. English-speaking countries refer to Ivory Coast as Ivory Coast, not Cote d'Ivoire.

The fact that it´s commenly used does not mean it´s correct. Also I was merely pointing out the fallacy in thinking that the common country names used were all in English. Which is what your comment implied.
