	The humerus is not the funny bone. Unless you're trying to be humorous. The funny bone is actually called the "ulnar nerve".

	@rgc1600 No, that's a combination of two hyphens. It might indicate that a dash is what was intended in a context where the author doesn't have the means to type an actual dash, but it is in fact two hyphens. The Sporcle comment box doesn't recognise the difference either – but a dash is distinct. In any case a dash has spaces either side of it where a hyphen doesn't, so there should be no real need for the inelegant '--'. Any 'hyphen' with spaces should be considered a dash automatically. Wow, that was more complex to explain than I envisaged!

	The word "hieroglyphics" is often misused, as it is in this quiz. The proper term is actually "hieroglyphs" (a noun). "Hieroglyphic" is an adjective used to describe this writing system, but many improperly use it in place of the original noun.

	Agreed that a pair of hyphens is not a true dash and is used where the author cannot produce a dash. At least in the U.S., there is a long history from typewriter days of using two hyphens to represent a dash. As a professional editor, I hold with that and see no reason to ask a single hyphen to pretend it's a dash. Also, FWIW, there are widely used publishing style guides that call for no space before and after a dash, and others that do.
