How to Play
The 'games' mentioned here are relationship games. Eric Berne and the field of Transactional Analysis have labeled the oft-occurring games featured in this quiz.
The Golden Quiz
The Player chooses a domineering partner. The Player is then allowed to blame their lack of success/effort on the dominance of the partner.
The Player invites a partner to make a mistake. The Player then vents their pent-up anger on the partner, blaming the partner's mistake (however trivial) for the anger.
Knowing their partner's buttons, the Player can't help but subconsciously push them. This provokes an angry response from the partner, validating the Player's negative self-image.
The Player obsesses over an activity. When interrupted, the Player overreacts. The overreaction is blamed on the interruption and the Player is thereby absolved of responsibility.
The Player rejects all intimate advances by their partner. After the partner stops trying, the Player begins acting provocatively. When advances resume, they are again rejected.
Two Players begin an angry exchange that escalates to one's dramatic exit (e.g. slamming a door). This game often follows long-term Frigid Man/Woman.
A three-handed game. Two Players take turns sharing a list of complaints about each other in hopes of getting the Third Player to join their side.
Player 1 poses a personal problem. Player 2 begins offering solutions. Player 1 points out the flaws in each of Player 2's solutions until Player 2 gives up, frustrated.
Player puts forth a great deal of effort toward a venture that intentionally does not succeed. The Player then garners sympathy and support from other players.
