	BCS schools refer to just the ACC, Big East, Pac-10, Big 10, Big 12, and SEC schools (and Notre Dame). I think you mean Division 1 FBS schools.

	The MAC's Miami University is not named after its city (it's located in Oxford, OH). It's named for the Miami River, which was itself named for the Miami Indians.

	BCS means from the Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, ACC, Big East, SEC. That being said, you left out Providence (Big East) Wake Forest is a city in North Carolina but has no affiliation with the University.

	my mistake for Miami U and the title. however, Providence does not have a football program so it doesn't count and Wake Forest was originally in Wake Forest, NC but moved in 1956. therefore it is still named after the city thus qualifying

	Coral Gables is in Miami-Dade county and its named after the city of Miami. it counts

	Technically, Clemson was not named after the city, but the city was named after the university, which was named for its founder. Stanford which is in Stanford, California (not Palo Alto as most people think), is the same way (town named for university). As someone noted above, while usually just called California (or Cal), technically, it is the University of California at Berkeley, so that should qualify for this list.

	I don't think UTEP/ Cal Berkely - UCLA - UAB, etc should qualify. They only reason they have the city in the name is to signify where the campus is since they are part of a (or once were) university system of multiple campuses.

	dookpsu13:, as to your comment I agree the only reason that they have the city in the name, but they are separate football programs that are named so because of the city they are located, sholud be in. Good quiz, some people are too nit picky. I bet that most of the negative comments here, the authors still got the answers to the ones they complain about. Therefore they understood the intent. My only feedback is to UC berkley might want to accept california alone but that is upto the author still a good quiz.

	Most of the schools you included in here of the UTEP/UCLA type should be here, because they are commonly known by their city. But I have to disagree about Berkeley. When it comes to sports, they are always known as "Cal." By putting Cal on this quiz, the same logic should then be used for any school that includes a city in its official name, such as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Obviously, these schools shouldn't be one here, and I think Cal falls in the same boat.

	Stanford is not a town or a city, but a census-designated place that exists solely for census and postal purposes (well, other than the University.) It is named for a boy. I agree with other posters: if you're going to include one state university system, you have to include them all. I would opt for not listing them.

	techincally notre dame is a city and it wouldnt accept san diego state and if your gonna include ucla and utep then you need illinois nebraska wisconsin and nevada

	Notre Dame isn't a city; it's just a post office for the university and its surroundings, which are outside the South Bend city limits. Ditto for Stanford with respect to Palo Alto.

	Boise State has decided to stay in the Mountain West and not go to the Big East. Also, UTSA (Texas-San Antonio) has joined the FBS.
