	It should probably say in the Republic of Ireland or Eire as Ireland is the actual island and as such the quiz should include Northern Ireland at the moment.

	@Mr T: What on earth has Bono got to do with Northern Ireland? He's from Dublin! @Steesh182: Ireland is the recognised name on this site for Eire, the map at the top makes it obvious that it the Republic which is being considered.

	@steesh: No. The official English-language name of the country is `Ireland'. `Eire' is the Irish-language name; `Republic of Ireland' is not the official name of the country but is used where there would be confusion between the country and the island. However, in this case, the map makes it clear that the quiz refers to the country, rather than the island.

	@Mr_T: What do you mean `technically' part of the UK? Northern Ireland is as much a part of the UK as Scotland, Wales and England. Now, they could include Northern Ireland by interpreting `Ireland' as meaning the island rather than the country, but I think it's best to avoid such major changes after a quiz has come out.

	Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford are the only cities in the Republic of Ireland. All other points of interest in this quiz are "TOWNS".

	@Adam C.: Kilkenny hasn't been officialy designated as a city since 2001, though it's allowed to continue using the term as it did before then.

	As with all Sporcle quizzes, the answer that appears on the screen is always accepted. So `10. Navan' also works, for what it's worth.

	Okay, I'm really confused. Based on the link at the top of the page, I went to http://beyond2020.cso.ie/Census/TableViewer/tableView.aspx then sorted by descending population. I get the following as the top ten: 1. Dublin (506k) 2. South Dublin (204K) 3. Fingal (221K) 4. Dun Laohaire - Rathdown (191k) 5. Kildare (122k) 6. Cork City (119K) 7. Galway City (72K) 8. Limerick City (52k) 9. Waterford City (45K) ...and darned if I can make out another city on the list. The rest are bizarre conglomerations of counties or surrounding rural areas or what have you. Which table were you using as the source?

	Even more confused now. I've gone to several different list of "largest cities Ireland" and their virtually all different. Isn't there a single good authoritative source for this?

	Galway should be third (72,414) and Limerick should be fourth (52,539) according to the 2006 CSO figures.

	@Ireland: the homepage always shortens the quiz name. The proper quiz title is on the page you are commenting on. In any case it shouldn't take a genius to figure out they are looking for the 10 most populous places in the country. Thanks Sporcle for this quiz! I was surprised to see that Drogheda is bigger than Kilkenny

	Actually I've had a look at the source and Kilkenny is quite far down the list - even behind such towns as Carlow, Leixlip and Celbridge, but with a slightly better hurling team
