	DON'T GIVE UP! Here are two vital hints to help you with this quiz: 1) You may not know the inventors themselves, but you've definitely seen their last names (or in one case, middle name) associated to their invention in most cases. Think of a company that's connected to the product and you'll find you know more than you think. 2) The answers are listed in alphabetical order by last name, so once you get a few, you can narrow down the range for the other answers you're looking for. Remember - you only need to enter last names! (Or in one unusual case, the inventor's middle name is sufficient.)

	My colleague felt sure that he knew the answer to the Toy Train, telling me the answer was the Bing brothers of Germany. My limited research seems to confirm this. They were selling there first one in 1880s while the given answer is listed as 1901. Could you please check? Loved the quiz though, amazing how many you can guess by thinking of common brands. Thanks

	@Richardlt: I can't speak as to who originated any specific product. All I can say is that these are the among the inventors in the Inventors Hall Of Fame (as linked at the top of the page) and the particular achievement they were recognized for. @Exodiafinder687: I could probably do a complete quiz on Edison alone, but outside the electric company, there really isn't a single product connected to his name that are currently (no pun intended) on the market. We don't buy Edison brand light bulbs, for example.

	Fail #1: I didn't even get enough to realize they were in alphabetical order. Fail #2: "Birdseye Frozen Vegetables" kept popping into my head, unfortunately the next thought was always "Too bad Birdseye would never actually be someone's last name..."

	Typical. I try to find 8 different translations from Cyrillic on Sikhorsky as alternate answers, then I screw up on helicopter. Aaaugh!

	The sad part about this quiz is the fact that today, the odds of the inventor of an important product getting credit are slim to none. Instead, it would be called Sony Surround Sound or Toyota Tires. Today, most great inventors are just simply people who work for large corporations, gaining little fame or respect for their accomplishments.

	@NCBerge: It has been that way for longer than you think. Edison's Menlo Park labs developed a lot of products that were attributed to Edison, although he probably did little of the work himself.

	I swear to God this is a true story, even though it sounds like a story Chunck would tell in The Goonies. (I don't know anyone on here, so why would I lie?) My great uncle invented the automatic transmission. Henry Ford got the idea from him and my great uncle didn't know anything about copyright laws or anything, and he never saw a dime. haha. He first put it on a go-kart he had. He worked at a Ford plant and showed somebody at work what he had done and because of him you can now text with one hand while you drive with the other instead of having to work a stick shift. Crazy. Sounds like BS, but I swear it is true.

	@Camden: Have you seen the movie "A Flash Of Genius" just out last year? It's the true story of the guy who invented intermittent windscreen wipers. Brought it to all the car companies and they all said "thanks, but no thanks", then introduced it anyhow. He spent decades, literally, suing the car companies and went nuts. Total mental breakdown. He kept turning down higher and higher settlement offers. So did your uncle actually invent the automatic transmission? I have no idea, but I wouldn't laugh it off either. And he may have been better off never pursuing it legally!

	@Chris: As with most of his "inventions" DaVinci made sketches but never produced working models. His "helicopter" literally never got off the ground. With the technology of his day, it is unlikely he would have succeeded in any event.
