But I think it's necessary for me to say here that while these attacks were unprovoked, they are extremely rare and most man-eating cases come from animals who live in areas with human-encroachment or disturbances. Then the old, sick and straggling predators go for human kills. A lot of these cases are disputed, famously the Azaria Chamberlain case. And overall the probability of getting attacked by animals is low. So while you should not, for example, stick your leg out in the Okavango Delta or in Kali River, or walk around in the Sundarbans at night, it doesn't mean you should be paralyzed by fear either.
