| Did not expect the only Pakistan entry to be for... Sweden. |
 | deco: | Sep 11th, 2012 at 18:07 GMT | | 11 points |
| i was expecting about 25 countries to fill the whole board sharing with each other....not tonnes of one answer nations, and im surprised the UK didnt have any a tall, not even in Australia or America....interesting quiz |
 | indianwolf1992: | Sep 12th, 2012 at 13:43 GMT | | 4 points |
| Thanks for playing, guys! @ArtFever: apparently Sweden has started getting a lot of Pakistani students after 9-11 because it visas for the US/UK, etc have become harder to get. @deco: the UK is on the top ten for several, it just never makes the top 5! |

| Strange, I was expecting Germany to be in France's top 5 - I study in France and I swear there are more German students than there are French.. |

| Interesting stuff, but it's unclear what exactly the numbers mean. Thousands of students? I can't figure it out. |
 | indianwolf1992: | Sep 24th, 2012 at 03:31 GMT | | 1 point |
| @jonnyr12: Yes, it's in thousands (see game note). Thanks for playing! |

| 10 seconds left I began typing random countries. 1 second i type in yemem. so annoyed i didnt get yemen. got uae and afghanistan. |
 | Ulkomaalainen: | Sep 24th, 2012 at 21:05 GMT | | 1 point |
| Very interesting. I guess this list goes by nationality rather than country of birth, which would explain why minorities feature quite prominently. |
 | osasunaitor: | Sep 24th, 2012 at 22:57 GMT | | 5 points |
| India was the hardest! Afghanistan? Ethiopia?? Never thought of them! And Lesotho and Swaziland were so obvious I forgot them... Really interesting quiz, i would have expected China everywhere! |
 | Jaydyn: | Sep 24th, 2012 at 23:55 GMT | | 5 points |
| I'm shocked about Canada not being on France's list, or vice-versa |
 | indianwolf1992: | Sep 25th, 2012 at 00:29 GMT | | 2 points |
| @osasunaitor: Yes, a lot of Afghans and Ethiopians who cannot afford education in developed countries come to India for a higher quality education than their home countries at a cheaper price than in the US or UK. Also, it's difficult for Afghans to get visas in the West post-9/11. |

| I enjoyed playing the quiz, but I've enjoyed your explanations in the comments even more. You really know your stuff, indianwolf! |
 | pator: | Sep 25th, 2012 at 13:22 GMT | | 5 points |
| Anyone know why so many French students are heading to Mexico? That struck me as quite odd. |
 | indianwolf1992: | Sep 25th, 2012 at 14:55 GMT | | 3 points |
| @ari18: Thanks so much! I just found the figures interesting so read up a bit on some of the odd ones. @pator: That one beats me, I can't really find anything on it online in English. Mexico does have a few very highly ranked universities so maybe it's just a lot of French students with specialist interests-? |
 | jonnyr12: | Sep 25th, 2012 at 15:57 GMT | | 3 points |
| Oops, didn't see the note regarding the units. Hooray for reading! |
 | mdalloway: | Sep 25th, 2012 at 21:15 GMT | | 6 points |
| Saudi Arabia has that many students in Canada? Huh. I've never met one... Maybe they're all hiding in the engineering faculties. |
 | indianwolf1992: | Sep 26th, 2012 at 01:44 GMT | | 2 points |
| @mdalloway: Surprised me too, since the Saudi population is so small (relatively) to begin with! Apparently most of them are doing intensive English studies. And of course there are engineers too. |
 | bmcnamee: | Sep 27th, 2012 at 18:28 GMT | | 2 points |
| I taught last year at a university in Vancouver and half the class was Saudi. Its apparently becoming quite the trend in Saudi to send your kids to Canada to study. |

| Just FYI, I think it somehow gave me credit for the USA in Mexico and the UK but not in Canada or China. Not sure how that happened. |
 | BigDaddyMatty: | Oct 4th, 2012 at 15:08 GMT | | 6 points |
| A small error in this quiz: the "United States" entries in Mexico and the United Kingdom are coded to accept "US," but the ones in Canada and China are not. |
 | nanners: | Oct 4th, 2012 at 15:14 GMT | | 2 points |
| Ah, nice catch. It's now been fixed to accept US across the board. Thanks guys and have fun playing! |

| "xx/75 countrys correct." the plural of country is "countries" |

| Needs more time. I was typing pretty much constantly and only got 61. Nice idea, just more time please. |
 | Meltha: | Oct 4th, 2012 at 18:22 GMT | | 9 points |
| I was really surprised the UK isn't anywhere on the list, or Ireland for that matter. |
 | fba827: | Oct 4th, 2012 at 20:20 GMT | | 8 points |
| wait, this is a country quiz, where is kyrgyzstan ? |
 | randomquizzes: | Oct 4th, 2012 at 21:34 GMT | | 4 points |
| @fba827: Yes, this quiz has no Kyrgyzstan. Is that legal in Sporcleland? |
 | desh79: | Oct 5th, 2012 at 07:32 GMT | | 3 points |
| And there I was thinking "Hah, no way Lesotho and Swaziland will feature on THIS quiz." How wrong I was. |
 | Kitty21: | Oct 5th, 2012 at 13:12 GMT | | 1 point |
| I have a feeling New Zealand should be on Australia's list, but they aren't always recorded as international students because they pay home student fees... |
 | Statto2: | Oct 5th, 2012 at 17:32 GMT | | 3 points |
| @Meltha - I don't think that many people from the UK study abroad. The most obvious example to me of those that do are those that go to the US on sports scholarships but that obviously can't be enough to get them into the top 5 here. I tried Ireland because I thought they might feature amongst the top 5 in the UK. Generally, Ireland's quite small population reduces its chances of making these lists. |
 | indianwolf1992: | Oct 5th, 2012 at 20:48 GMT | | 2 points |
| Also, the UK was in the top ten for many of these but not top five, so it was just short of a few. And yes, New Zealand and Ireland just don't have enough sheer population to outdo the Chinese or Indians when it comes to studying abroad. |
 | 182: | Oct 12th, 2012 at 21:10 GMT | | 1 point |
| Not a lot of UK students studying abroad! |
