I think the beer one may be wrong. Beer is usually made with barley. The hops flavor it.

Beer, wine, sake, mead and cider are not distilled. They're either brewed or fermented. MM is right, beer is brewed from Barley. Hops are added for flavor.

and you should accept "cacti/cactus" because agave is a specific kind. and agreed about hops-accept barley instead

Agave is not a cactus, it's closely related to the lily.

would also allow the singular answer as I said apple, grain and got nothing. Vodka can be made from grain, potato, rice, rye and a few other things also.

No changes made yet. Grain should be acceptable for whiskey, and molasses for rum.
