| Braves dominance in the South is really threefold. First, TBS. Second, there's been no other MLB team in the south--until the early 90s the closest teams were in St. Louis, Cincinnati and Baltimore; even now, it's the Florida teams and Washington. Third, the pro football teams don't dominate the way they might elsewhere because of SEC football. With those factors you almost end up as "Braves" as the de facto professional choice of many (with few obvious exceptions, like the Titans and Saints). |
