Man the A's had some terrible late 90's all-stars. And it's "Jon" Lieber.

I know, right? And thanks, I've restored Jon Lieber's name to its appropriate H-less glory.

I don't think John Jaha made the 2000 All-Star team. Also, Tim Hudson was an All-Star for the A's in 2000.

@clemsontigers...hmmm. You're right. Somewhere along the line I missed something. Thanks, I'll see if I can sort this out. Feedback very much appreciated!

I was gonna suggest Reggie Sanders or Mike Morgan for the next one of these, but it turns out they've each been to one ASG. dang.

@ivn: Reggie Sanders would be a great one! I think it's more fun when the player hasn't been to an All-Star game at all, but I've done one of these for Jesse Orosco, who went to back to back AS games with the Mets. (http://www.sporcle.com/games/ianmez/jesse-orosco-all-stars). Others you may see soon: Octavio Dotel, Ron Villone, Paul Bako, Royce Clayton, and Jose Guillen.

Long story why I got Gary Mathews Jr: in 2006 my grandfather died and I flew to Detroit for the funeral. In my grief I went to a couple ball games. The first one was when Mathews (was the last player to) hit for a natural cycle, a rarer feat than a perfect game. Matt Stairs was his teammate that day...and later that week, during the second game, Stairs was a Tiger. Thus, whenever someone mentions Matt Stairs I always think of my grandfather (and not because they're the same age :D).
