| I'm pretty sure Vemulakonda is not Hindi, I would guess Telugu.
From your source surnames.behindthenames.com, its origin is listed as "Hindu", a religion, not "Hindi", a language. The site goes on to say that "There is a city called Vemulakonda in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India." The language spoken in Andhra Pradesh is Telugu.
I would not expect you to necessarily know that Telugu is spoken in Andhra Pradesh, but I would expect most people to know the difference between "Hindi" and "Hindu". |
